TRANSGENDER LEGAL RIGHTS

The New York City Bar Association hosts a panel discussion about current judicial, legislative, and political developments on the local, state, and federal levels affecting the legal and civil rights of transgendered Americans. Donna Levinsohn, an attorney at Warshaw Burstein Cohen Schlesinger & Kuh will moderate a group made up of Pooja Gehi,a staff attorney at the Sylvia Rivera Law Project; Sharon M. McGowan, a staff attorney at the ACLU Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Project; Pauline Park, chair of the New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy (NYAGRA); Franklin Romeo, a Blackmun Fellow at the Center for Reproductive Rights; and Michael Silverman, executive director and general counsel at the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund. The panel will take place Tuesday, October 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the House of the New York City Bar Association, 42 West 44th Street.
