Stacey Abrams In the midst of a tight race for governor of Georgia, Stacey Abrams, the Democratic nominee, on October 14 became the first major party candidate to march in the Atlanta’s LGBTQ Pride Parade.

Abrams’ Republican opponent, Brian Kemp, is not only opposed to LGBTQ rights but is using his position as Georgia secretary of state to suppress the African-American vote.

That said, Kemp was revealed this week to be advertising his candidacy on the gay hook-up app Grindr — likely unintentionally.
