Pop Gym Pop Up: Free Self-Defense Workshop
Palm Heels for the people! Don’t get that joke? No worries! Come by this free Pop Up workshop to learn some introductory skills that will keep you feeling safe. The workshop covers the basics: stretching, conditioning, technique, and theory, with the hope that participants will leave with some super useful foundations that will aid them in the day-to-day. Mix that in with some sweat and some movement, and you’ll have an accessible and confidence-boosting good time for all. Whether you are a beginner, or someone with experience, come work it out with POP Gym. Open to all ages! Participants will be moving around, so they should wear clothing in which they’re comfortable stretching and sweating.
POP Gym is a new project, working towards providing free self-defense, fitness, and skill share classes all around New York City. For information about future events, email email@example.com or check out popgym.org!
Bluestockings is a first-floor location. While the bathroom is not ADA accessible, there are coffee shops nearby (Starbucks) with wheelchair-accessible facilities. The store is a few blocks away from the Essex J/M or the Second Ave F Trains.
