The Fall for Dance Festival boasts generous support from numerous major foundations and companies and brings 30 companies to City Center’s stage over six nights at $10 a ticket. It’s not a modern dance festival, it’s not a New York dance festival and it certainly isn’t a ballet festival, but it’s about as achingly diverse as you can get, featuring most of the big names and some pleasantly surprising smaller ones. City Center, W. 55th St., between 6th and 7th Aves. Tickets are available at NYCityCenter.org or 212 581 1212. Sep. 28 – Oct. 3 at 8 p.m.—Brian McCormick
