Town Hall hosts a Valentine’s Day concert that celebrates same-sex love

Feeling a little left out by most of the straight celebrations of Valentine’s Day?

Looking for a special way to honor your special love?

The Gay Valentine Music Celebration may be just the ticket for you. The brainchild of conductors Harold Rosenbaum and Benjamin Niemczyk of the Canticum Novum Singers, the evening celebrates same-sex love through music, dance, cabaret and poetry.

It is also a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Ai

Featured in the evening will be The Paul Taylor Dance Company, the Canticum Novum Singers, The Ambassadors of the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, a chamber choir, and the Gay Gotham Chorus. Cabaret performers include singer/pianist Michael Ferreri, singers Jeanne MacDonald, Karen Oberlin and John Wesley Wright. Composers whose music will be featured in the event include David Del Tredici and John Bucchino.

The celebration is Saturday evening February 12 at 8 pm at Town Hall. Tickets range from $20-$100 and are available at the box office or by calling 212-307-7171.

And, and as great as this celebration is likely to be, you’re still not off the hook for the flowers and perhaps a nice dinner out.
