The Newark Pride Alliance and the LGBT community of Newark invite all high school seniors and interested adults, especially those who did not attend their high school prom, to come and celebrate being out and proud at this year’s gala prom. Dance the night away with gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their families and friends. There will be a buffet dinner, with dancing and entertainment provided by the house ball community and a DJ. All proceeds benefit the founding of the Sakia Gunn Community Center, a center established to serve LGBT youth. Pride Glows in Brooklyn
Join New York City’s second-largest gay and lesbian Pride event of the season. The day’s festivities begin at 11 a.m. and include: street festival, live entertainment, 5-kilometer fun run, and displaying of the AIDS Quilt. The festival takes place at Bartel- Pritchard Circle and along Prospect Park West from 15th Street to 9th Street. The evening march begins at 8 p.m. at Bartel-Pritchard Circle (Prospect Park West at 15th St.) and travels up 15th St. to Seventh Ave., continuing north on Seventh Ave. to Lincoln Place.
